Banged up Leafs face rising Predators
The only meeting between the two teams this season will happen in Nashville where the Preds are slowly making a run towards Chicago atop the Central Division.
Nashville is coming of a big win vs the Washington Capitals where Goaltender Pekka Rinne showed why he is earning the big bucks. There is no doubt about goaltending in the Predators camp.
The same thing can’t be said for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Scrivens is almost the given number 1 at the moment and all reports indicate he’ll be between the pipes tonight. But Leafs GM Brian Burke has said the Leafs are shopping around for a veteran Goaltender, anyone other than Marty Turco.
I’m very interested to see how Scrivens starts tonight’s game. After starting shaky against the Yotes on tuesday, Scrivens really came into a calm zone and stopped everything coming his way. Can he keep the confidence going into Nashville? If he can, we might might be looking at a Goalie show down in music town.
MacArthur and Grabo are out. Grabby for at least two weeks. But no call ups this time around, the Leafs will dress 7 D including Cody Franson who will square against his old team.
Connelly is in and hoping to stay in the lineup long enough to make an impact.
If Scrivens can be the goalie he was in the 3rd period of the Phoenix game, we’ll have ourselves a close one.
Kessel gets his 14th, Leafs win 2-1.
